G&D President and Bedford County Development Association (BCDA) Board Chair, Jeff Crist, had the honor of greeting and welcoming PA Governor Josh Shapiro to elected officials, county leadership and media attendees on Tuesday May 6, 2025.

The Governor made a point of coming to Bedford County for his statewide initiative announcement and press conference from the future site of Bedford County’s Business Park III. The Governor’s initiative awarded $64 Million across 11 projects in the commonwealth to facilitate shovel-ready sites that aim to enhance the state’s economic growth and development.

Bedford County became the first recipient of the program and was awarded $2.8 Million from the program. The award will be used to develop areas of a 151-acre site to create Bedford County Business Park III. Jeff noted “This grant award will be used for Land Development grading and infrastructure such as streets, curbing, sewage, water, power, gas and telecom to ready the site for businesses to land in Bedford County." Jeff credits the awesome staff at BCDA, led by CEO Bette Slayton and the Board of Directors, for their vision and passion in positioning Bedford County for the future.
