Phoenix Contact’s vision of an expanded Logistics Center at their North America headquarters in Middletown, PA was realized with a 103,000 sq. ft. two-story addition and a $21 million total investment. The Logistics Center utilizes an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS) for Phoenix Contact’s products.

 

Gatter & Diehl provided single-point total project management and construction design for the new facility. Our services included responsibility for all design facets involving land development, architectural, structural, MEP/FP, bid procurement, construction contract preparation, on and off-site project management and project close-out. This was just one of many Phoenix projects where we worked directly with company executives to facilitate all project aspects.

 

The facility is complete with information technology offices, conferences rooms, lounges, lab & testing areas and loading docks. The project is accredited with LEED Silver certification, earning 52 points with 17 of them coming from our energy modeling department. Another tremendous achievement was obtaining Net-Zero Energy status. The LCA is now designed to
produce 220% more energy via Renewable Solar PV than it consumes.
