Gatter & Diehl's MEP design of the Lehighton Elementary Center was recognized with the Most Successful Community Engagement Award at the 2019 Forever Green USGBC Central PA Leadership banquet. The award celebrates a project team that has demonstrated creative and innovative strategies for connecting either with their internal or external community through a building project.

 

​Lehighton Area School District (LASD) administrators decided to create a two-story, 166,000 sq. ft. primary elementary center to house all K-5 students in an effort to restructure the district and replace the four separate elementary schools that were in operation.

 

​The LASD embraced the USGBC LEED program to assist in attaining their high standards for the project that concluded with a LEED Gold certification.
