Phoenix Contact USA’s vision of creating a more sustainable world just took another step in the right direction with the completion of their Solar EV Carport. Phoenix Contact employees and their visitors can now charge their electric vehicles on the campus utilizing solar capabilities via four Flo Core+ charging stations, each with two charging points, and two Jule fast-charging stations that can charge a vehicle 180 to 240 miles in just one hour time, depending on EV manufacturer, make, and model. 

 

The solar canopy was designed with 234 solar panels that generate up to 112.5kw with each individual panel generating 480w at peak output. The Jule System charging stations presently have a 220kWh of total battery storage capacity with provisions to add another 220kWh, along with provisions to implement another two charging stations. For the Flo Core+ System, provisions for two future stations were implemented as well.
